The year-end fashion show titled “Anatolian Heritage,” organized by the Department of Textile and Fashion Design of our Faculty, was held on June 5, 2026, at Barbaros Cafe on Uluyazı Campus.

Bringing together the original designs of our senior students at the graduation stage, the fashion show offered a strong field of production that reinterpreted Anatolia’s thousands-year-old cultural heritage through the language of contemporary fashion design. Cultural elements ranging from weaving and marbling to printing and felt were transformed into contemporary design objects through the creative approaches of our students.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Bozkurt, Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Ersoy Yılmaz and Head of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design Assoc. Prof. Arzu Evecen were also present at the event. Held with the participation of academic staff, students and guests, the fashion show contributed to the visibility of the department’s educational and creative practices focused on design, production and cultural heritage.

The “Anatolian Heritage” fashion show was realized through the dedicated organization, process follow-up and guiding contributions of Assist. Prof. Dr. Emine Ketencioğlu, who helped bring the students’ works to the runway. From the conceptual framework of the designs to the presentation stage, the process created an important platform that made visible the knowledge, skills and aesthetic accumulation our students developed throughout their education.

More than a year-end presentation, the event also stood out for addressing the transformation of textile into art and design from the perspective of cultural sustainability.
