KORO MÜZTEK, the choir of the Department of Music at our Faculty, achieved significant success at the 28th Turkey Choral Festival, held at Arı Cultural Arts Center in Ankara between June 5 and 14, 2026.

Having passed the preliminary round and earned the right to participate in the festival, where 119 choirs took the stage, KORO MÜZTEK was awarded the “Rhythmic Unity and Rhythmic Harmony Achievement” prize by the jury following its performance on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Composed of 14 male and 2 female students, KORO MÜZTEK carried its course-based studies beyond the classroom and transformed them into a valuable stage experience. Conducted by Lecturer Dr. Yağmur Yaşar and accompanied on piano by Associate Professor Dr. Tuğba Çağlak Eker, our choir performed works from Turkish, Japanese, Spanish and Hungarian repertoires.

Choir conductor Lecturer Dr. Yağmur Yaşar stated that this achievement was not a personal accomplishment, but primarily the result of the students’ efforts, the collective work of the Department of Music and the supportive culture and arts environment of the university. Yaşar also expressed her gratitude to Associate Professor Dr. Tuğba Çağlak Eker for her piano accompaniment, to the administrators and academic staff who supported the process, and to everyone who contributed to enabling the students to experience this artistic environment.

This achievement, gained through the dedicated efforts, disciplined work and stage harmony of our students, is also valuable in terms of highlighting the productive artistic education environment provided by our Faculty.
